இந்திய பாராளுமன்றத்தில் நிகழ்த்திய உரையில் சுவாமி விவேகானந்தரைப் பற்றிக் குறிப்பிட்டார்.
வேற்றுமைக்கு பதிலாக அவர் இந்தியாவின் பலத்தைக் காண்பித்தார் – இந்தியா பற்றியக் கருத்தை மாற்றினார் – அனைத்து ஜாதி, நிறம், மதநம்பிக்கையை, ஒருங்கிணைத்தார் -இன்றைய கழக வேற்றுமையை விவரமாக விளக்கினார். மிகவும் மதிப்புமிக்கவர், நம்பிக்கையானவர், என்னுடைய சொந்த ஊர்ராகிய சிக்காகோவிற்கு நூறு வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு விஜயம் செய்தார். அவர் புகழ்ப்பெற்ற சுவாமி விவேகானந்தர் .
புனிதம், தூய்மை, அறம், ஆகியவை ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட சமுதாயத்திற்கு மட்டும் சொந்தம் இல்லை. மற்றும் உயர்ந்த நற்ப்பன்புகளை உடைய ஆண்களையும், பெண்களையும் உருவாக்குவதே அனைத்து அமைப்புகளின் நோக்கம் என்று கூறினார்.

Instead of succumbing to division, you have shown that the strength of India – the very idea of India – is its embrace of all colours, castes and creeds. He said that, “holiness, purity and charity are not the exclusive possessions of any church in the world, and that every system has produced men and women of the most exalted character.”
